Here at Reimer Ramblings we…

… are a family-owned business that thrives on variety and personal growth. We cover a multitude of skills, abilities, topics of interest, strengths and weaknesses, and goals.

As the main author and producer of this site, I am opening my life to the public eye - in the hope of being a light to someone who is lost in darkness. As a middle-aged wife and mother, I have struggled with “not measuring up” in an overwhelming number of areas in my life. As a child, I allowed the negative voice in my head too much ground, and it continued to rule my heart and thoughts frequently. Once I had children of my own, the vast number of possible failures and unknowns became vividly clear to me. While all parents realize that kids don’t come with a ‘How-To’ manual, I felt the constant weight of my inability to be the Perfect Mom, and often found myself unable to move under that weight, and got “stuck” there quite often. I still struggle with not being good enough, and that is why this page has struggled to come to life over the past 5 years. A plethora of supportive loved ones encourages me to write, share, and use my story as a teaching tool for others. I choose to follow their voices over the negative ones.

My family may choose to be named in the future, but here I will give a general introduction. Hubby is the strong, quiet, patient, and sarcastic type. He has graciously put up with my “adventure” mindset, along with all the tools and trappings thereof. All the while, he remained the foundation and strong tower for our family when Satan attempted to dislodge our faith in God, our Creator. He is a man of God, a true servant of the people he leads, and a blessing to our family that I have all too often taken advantage of.

We are a “large family” by American standards by choice, as we have been both foster and adoptive parents. Parenting is by far the hardest thing in the world that we have done, and yet it has come with the most intense blessings and growth. Because of the age of our children, I won’t divulge too many details, as those are their stories to tell. I will say that becoming a blended family through adoption is not a decision to be made lightly, and it has changed the trajectory and learning curve of our family over the past decade. They say that every child is a blessing - too true! Every child is also a struggle, a ball of confusion, a gift of perseverance, and a bottomless pit of possibilities! I love them all too much for words.
